That’s right: This is whiskey with a New York City pedigree.
The back story: When we think of bourbon, we think of Kentucky, the state most associated with the classic American whiskey.
And the brand, which is indeed based in the city’s Brooklyn borough, has now released a limited-edition bourbon, aptly called The Vaults. “We thought, ‘We have that water in New York and we all know New York water makes great bagels and pizza,’” she adds. Widow Jane, which also offers some lower-priced bourbons and ryes, must be doing something right. The company says its sales increased by 42% in 2018.
