MANILA, Philippines -- Thirdy Ravena is hopeful that the novel coronavirus pandemic will not keep him from pursuing his plans of playing in Japan later this year.

Ravena received offers to play in Japan's B.League after a sensational career with Ateneo de Manila University, where he won three consecutive Finals MVP awards. He was also named the Philippines' Mr. Basketball for 2019.

"Kung matuloy pa rin 'yung plano, I guess siguro sa Japan," Ravena told Beau Belga in the most recent episode of "Extra Rice." "Aasikasuhin pa namin 'yun after this, kasi hindi pa namin sure kung matutuloy 'yung next season," he added. The B.League had scrapped the rest of its season in March due to the COVID-19 outbreak. It initially played games behind closed doors starting March 14, before eventually deciding to cancel the rest of its games. The B.League finals was scheduled for May.Ravena said he originally planned to be in Japan by August, as the new season starts in October.

In the meantime, Ravena is spending most of his time at home with his family as they continue to follow the strict physical distancing rules of the enhanced community quarantine. The former Ateneo star has remained active on social media as well, showing his workout routine even while locked down."Sa totoo lang, parang nagiging gym 'tong bahay kasi halos lahat kami dito naglalaro pa. Kanya-kanyang workout, kanya-kanyang pakundisyon.
