Live music is always playing in Chicago in the summer and this weekend is no exception. Or take a trip out to Glen Ellyn to see “Warhol.”
Now at the Cleve Carney Museum of Art at the College of DuPage, an exhibition on the life and work of artist Andy Warhol, running through mid-September. More than 200 original Warhol works and photographs are on display, including 94 artworks from “Andy Warhol Portfolios: A Life in Pop | Works from the Bank of America Collection” and 150 pieces from the College of DuPage’s permanent collection.
This weekend’s street festival in the Lincoln Square neighborhood has long had an Americana musical vibe and benefits in part the Old Town School of Folk Music. Headliners include Superchunk, Divino Niño and Eleventh Dream Day, as well as Jon Langford & Sally Timms as part of the Cosmic Country Showcase. Plus the Sunnyside Family Stage, food from local restaurants and a craft beer showcase.
