Youths tried to steal six Durangos, including five SRTs, but destroyed two of the SUVs by trying and failing to ram through a tough security gate
A gang of youths from Detroit has been arrested after trying and failing to steal six Dodge Durango SUVs worth around $500,000. The thieves rammed two of the SUVs into the super-tough security gate at Ground Effects Automotive, totally destroying the Durangos. Four teens and one 24-year-old were arrested, and all of the Durangos, or what’s left of them, was recovered at the scene. We’ve seen it a million times in the movies.
35 on Monday morning when half a dozen thieves entered Ground Effects’ parking lot with plans to steal five high performance Durango SRTs and one regular model, collectively worth around $500k. Someone had seen the gang standing close to vehicles in the lot and alerted the police, and when the cops turned up they were just in time to see the embarrassing failed exit attempt.
