The Willoughby man, 45, was identified through his store loyalty card, which he used when purchasing other items.A suicidal man called at 1 a.m. Nov. 6 reporting that he was in the parking lot of the Hilton Garden Inn and had a gun. Responding officers found the man holding the gun to his head. He would not give his name but with his phone number known to be from Willowick, dispatchers contacted police from that agency, and they confirmed the man’s identity. With assistance from area departments, officers were able to get the man to release the gun and had him taken to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. A friend and the man’s father were advised of the incident. The friend suggested that the Willowick man, 21, had been upset about issues in the relationship with the child of his mother.A Citizen’s Bank manager reported Nov. 10 that their ATM sign was run over by an unknown vehicle. The bank is reviewing surveillance video to see if the incident was captured and get a description of the vehicle.A homeless woman, 28, came to the station for advice Nov. 6 suggesting that she had her car towed by Lyndhurst police the previous week and believed the incident was tied to a case of identity fraud.Officers told her that she would need to file a fraud report in the city in which she last received mail. They had her wait in the lobby for a ride since she her driver’s license was suspended.A resident said Nov. 6 that when he ran a credit check, he found multiple fraudulent credit cards and loans in his name.Officers took a report and advised him to file an online report at ic3.gov. There was no monetary loss attributed to the incident and the man had already placed a fraud alert on his credit.A manager of Omni Systems asked for special attention to the business Nov. 10 due to a fight between two employees.
