Golden State Warriors' All-Star Klay Thompson is excited for challenge of playing the Suns in Phoenix for the first time since he was injured in 2019.
Klay Thompson will play with the Golden State Warriors in Phoenix on Tuesday night for the first time in more than three seasons.
The last time that the four-time NBA champion played on the Suns' home court was a Warriors win on Feb. 8, 2019. Four months later, Thompson tore his ACL in Golden State's fifth straight NBA Finals appearance, then missed the next two seasons until his return in January. The same season when Thompson injured his knee was when the Suns' had their third-worst ever 19-win season. A lot has changed with the Suns roster and organization since then, and the all-star guard talked after Tuesday's pregame shootaround about the Suns becoming a title contender, disgraced team owner Robert Sarver and more. "I feel great. I’m not where I need to be as far as peak conditioning.
"As NBA fans, we should just be grateful we’re still watching Chris do his thing. He’s such an amazing player. And then I love Coach Monty . He’s a great leader, a natural born leader, and they built something really good here."“The adversity they’ve faced from the stuff they had to deal with from their owner not being a good person, that’s a big obstacle, but they’ve persevered through it. So I felt for their guys.
