Once there, Smith looks for fungi by scooping up samples into a little tube or sticking a Starburst into the sidewalk terrain."The warmth of the sidewalk really helps it actually get melt a little bit and get into the nitty gritty of the sidewalk material," he explained.Though further research is required, there is some indication that fungi in warmer neighborhoods are more heat-resistant and are able to withstand hotter temperatures than fungi in cooler neighborhoods.
