Indianapolis International Airport recently added restaurants to appeal to Pacers fans and burger lovers. More Hoosier-branded spots are on the way.
The cult favorite’s classic burgers, chicken sandwiches, crinkle-cut fries, handspun shakes and frozen custard have made their way to the airport after a two-year delay. It doesn’t get any more Indiana than this restaurant and bar taking over the space formerly occupied by Wolfgang Puck and a convenience shop.Think fresh soups, salads and sandwiches.
Currently, it’s set up to order in advance for express pickup at restaurants. But the airport will evaluate the program to consider expanding it to order delivery to gates. The full-service restaurant has been at the airport since it opened. Its contract expired in 2021, but the airport held off seeking bids for the space because the pandemic had so many restaurants on the ropes and not in position to perform well at the airport, Shaw said.
