Jeep marks 85 years with special-edition Wranglers and Gladiators, adding subtle design tweaks, upgraded tech, and a few nostalgic nods
Jeep revealed Gladiator and Wrangler 85th Anniversary Editions. Bronze tow hooks, decals, and exclusive wheels are included. Interiors feature plaid seats and unique shift medallions. Jeep continues rolling out new special editions as part of their Twelve 4 Twelve campaign.
The latest, following the Wrangler Whitecap and Moab 392, marks “85 years of off-road leadership” and happens to be the most affordable one yet. Without further ado, the Gladiator and Wrangler 85th Anniversary Editions are based on the Sport S trim and feature a unique exterior with bronze tow hooks and exclusive 17-inch wheels painted in Steel Oxide. Buyers will also find body-color fender flares as well as Blue Agave 85th anniversary badges and decals. They're joined by LED lighting units, tinted rear windows, and a Gorilla Glass windshield. A matching plaid accent can also be found on the instrument panel. The upgrades don’t end there as the vehicles have a plaque and an 85th anniversary shifter medallion. They’re accompanied by Berber floor and cargo mats as well as additional equipment. The latter includes an Alpine premium audio system and the Convenience Group, which adds heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, remote start, and keyless passive entry. Power is provided by a familiar 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine that produces 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Pricing starts at $45,820 for the Gladiator and $46,300 for the Wrangler. This means they’re $1,005 and $710 more expensive than comparably equipped Sport S variants with the Convenience Group and Alpine audio system. Jeep is currently accepting orders and the models will also be offered in Canada. There, they begin at $57,490 CAD for the Gladiator and $65,885 CAD for the Wrangler.
