OPV cells, now capable of being bent, draped, or even weaved into fabrics, unlock revolutionary ways to utilize solar energy.
When subjected to FEA analysis under transverse electric - polarized light, the hemispherical cell demonstrated an astonishing 66 percent increase in light absorption, validating Professor Hah's theory. A similar, albeit smaller, increase was observed when subjected to transverse magnetic -polarized light, with improvements hovering around 36%.
"With the improved absorption and omnidirectionality characteristics, the proposed hemispherical-shell-shaped active layers will be found beneficial in various application areas of organic solar cells, such as biomedical devices, as well as applications such as power-generation windows and greenhouses, internet-of-things, and so on," highlighted Professor Hah, in a
