There are some very cool Star Wars LEGO Mocs out there, and the galaxy has plenty of epic battles that definitely deserve the brick-built treatment.
While official LEGO Star Wars sets are super popular and lots of fun, they're primarily models of singular ships, vehicles, and the occasional location from the galaxy far, far away. It's always been up to fans and collectors to bring multiple ships, minifigures, and locales together to recreate some of the most iconic battles in the Star Wars canon.
7 Siege of Mandalore Thanks to LEGO's recent and upcoming sets featuring clone troopers from Ahsoka Tano's 332nd Company, a very exciting LEGO MOC idea could be the Siege of Mandalore. Aiding Commander Rex and the Republic despite having left the Jedi Order, the former Jedi dueled the former Sith Maul who'd been using his Shadow Collective of crime syndicates to take over Mandalore.
Resembling a giant flying squid, the aquatic Trident gunship would have to be custom-built as LEGO has never made an official set before. However, the gunships were major parts of the assault during the Battle of Kamino, launching themselves out of the water before landing on roofs and drilling inside to deploy battle droids carried inside. As such, building a custom LEGO Trident would certainly be quite a fun challenge for a LEGO Star Wars collector.
LEGO did indeed make a few sets based on the Umbaran Campaign, including an official minifigure of Krell himself. Combined with LEGO's newer 501st battle packs, a LEGO MOC would certainly be feasible, perhaps on black baseplates to convey the planet always being covered in darkness. Additionally, some of the exotic alien foliage found in LEGO's new Avatar sets could be reappropriated to make an Umbaran landscape.
