Beleaguered former Jose Rizal University basketball player John Amores has received some “words of encouragement” from Vice President Sara Duterte.
“Remember the lesson, not the mistake. You have a friend from the Office of the Vice President,” Amores wrote, as he quoted an excerpt from Duterte’s letter. Amores has been indefinitely suspended from the National Collegiate Athletic Association for engaging in a brawl with players from the College of St. Benilde Blazers last month. This led to his removal from the JRU’s basketball team and athletics program.He is also facing charges from Blazers Taine Davis and Jimboy Pasturan and Mark Belmonte of the University of the Philippines , whom he punched during their games this year.
