SAN FRANCISCO — Andrew Wiggins has missed 11 games following his absence from the Warriors’ game against Milwaukee on Saturday due to personal reasons.
“There’s nothing to report on,” Kerr said before the game. “We’re giving him space, as we’ve talked about, as he deals with something that’s way more important than the game. If he’s able to come back then that would be great. If not, that’s the case. Whatever happens, we handle it accordingly.” Several members of the Warriors and coaching staff, including Kerr, have kept in touch with Wiggins throughout his absence including close friend, Jordan Poole.
Wiggins’ absence has intersected with a chaotic stretch for the Warriors as they hope to hold on to a playoff spot and potentially avoid a the play-in tournament. Golden State entered Saturday’s game in the seventh seed following a three-game losing road trip against the Los Angeles Lakers, Oklahoma City Thunder and Memphis Grizzlies.
