Dr. Dre is being sued for $10 million by his former therapist who alleged the rapper has sent him threatening text messages
Dr. Dre is being sued for $10 million after psychotherapist Dr. Charles Sophy alleged he received “threats and unbearable harassment” from the music mogul.
Sophy, who previously treated Dre starting in 2018, claimed that he is in fear of his safety because of the rapper’s “violent history.” According to the documents, Sophy has been subjected to “abusive, tormenting conduct” by Dre, who is referred to by his real name, Andre Romell Young, throughout the paperwork.
Sophy worked with Dre and his ex-wife, Nicole Young, until their divorce in 2021. The former couple married in 1996 and welcomed two kids together, Truice, born in 1997, and Truly, born in 2001. Dre also adopted Young’s son Tyler, whom she shares with Sedale Threatt. According to the filing, the doctor started hearing from Dre “14 months” after his split was finalized and “without warning” began receiving “abusive messages.
