A Theodore man found guilty in May of murdering and robbing a man he met through an LGBTQ+ dating app was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison without the possibility of parole, the Mobile District Attorney’s Office announced.
after investigators said he used the LGBTQ+ dating app Grindr to coax 58-year-old Johnny Clark Soekhies into a meeting on Oyler Road on Oct. 25.
Rhodes used the app to lure Soekhies into meeting on Oyler Road near Lynda Court, then robbed and shot him once in the head before dumping his body at the end of the cul-de-sac.
