The other option is to move back in to a rental but with the low vacancy rates and high prices, it's not viable.'That goal has slipped away' Lara Nesteroff and husband Murray dream of buying a home but it feels unachieaveble with the current prices.And even when you buy a home, it might not be liveable if it's in the lower price range, which means forking out more money for renovations.
"When I was entering the workforce, the median house price was around $450,000 but now it's easily $700,000 and increasing," she said. "The housing market feels scary. I work in real estate and everyone around you is nonchalant about everything when it's not that easy for everyone," she said.
