The results for The World's 50 Best Bars 2019 are here. London had the strongest presence in the top 50 with 10 entries, while New York, Singapore, and Buenos Aires made an appearance in the top 10., this year the top position was given to New York's famed Dante, located in Greenwich. Dante is loved by both locals and travellers and made a shocking jump from 9th position last year to 1st in the 2019 list. A clear indicator of improvement and continuous effort by the bar team.

Another clear rising star was Florería Atlántico, the only bar from Buenos Aires in the top 50 list. Florería Atlántico rose to 3rd position this year, from 14th last year. The warm, welcoming bar focuses on forgotten ingredients and balanced concoctions while bringing the energy and culture of vibrant Argentina into the surroundings and drinks.

Singapore's presence was strong with the amazing gin haven Atlas in 8th place and the city's Manhattan, Native, Jigger & Pony, and Operation Dagger all present. Hong Kong's Old Man rose one spot to 9th and the team's new Old Man in Singapore made it on to the top 20. Having recently visited the Mescal hub of Hong Kong, Coa, it's refreshing to see them enter the list at 49th position.

Sadly, other Asian hubs didn't shine so brightly with only two bars coming in from Tokyo and only one bar from Taipei, Taiwan's booming cocktail capital. As a long time resident of both cities, it's clear the cities have much more to offer. Hopefully we'll see more bars from some of Asia's most exciting cities make it onto the list in the coming years.

The top ten list shows certain changes each year, but with so many amazing bars and mixologists appearing across the globe more diversity should be added, and new entries brought into the spotlight. This will take away repetition and give new, upcoming venues a chance to shine.3. Florería Atlántico, Buenos Aires
