It was a seemingly reeling veteran, talented ballclub, returning loads of experience from last year’s regional finalist.
The Woodlands is 23-9 overall and finish 12-4 in district play. The Highlanders enter the playoffs next week outscoring opponents by an average of 8.8 runs during the win streak. “There were a lot of expectations coming into this season. The biggest challenge was not X’s and O’s but managing the girls themselves and getting them to not play to the pressure. To see them buy into one at-bat, one inning at a time, has been great.”The 0-4 start to district play was a huge wakeup call.
