Fans of The Witcher universe have something to be excited about as Netflix has just released a new trailer for the upcoming anime film, The Witcher : Sirens of the Deep. This sneak peek offers viewers a glimpse into the movie's narrative, along with the return of familiar voice talent. The Witcher : Sirens of the Deep marks the second animated film within the franchise, following the success of 2021's The Witcher : Nightmare of the Wolf. Both films are animated by Studio Mir .
Initially slated for a 2024 release, the film has been pushed back to February 11, 2025. Based on the short story 'A Little Sacrifice' by series creator Andrzej Sapkowski, the film draws directly from established Witcher lore.The trailer showcases Geralt of Rivia, voiced once again by Doug Cockle, arriving in a coastal region where tensions between humans and the nearby Merpeople are escalating. The disappearance of several divers has fueled these tensions, leading to the hiring of Geralt to investigate the monster problem. He finds himself collaborating with a young woman named Essi Daven, played by Christina Wren. While the trailer hints at both humans and Merpeople striving to prevent a full-blown war, it also suggests the presence of other, more sinister forces who might be manipulating events to ignite conflict.
