The possibility of a multiverse coming to The Witcher has been criticized by fans. The Netflix series, which is based on the fantasy novels of the same name by Andrzej Sapkowski, stars Henry Cavill as the magically imbued monster hunter Geralt of Rivia. In the upcoming season 4, Cavill will be exiting the series, and the role will be recast with The Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth.
RedGoateeGuy expressed trepidation, saying "I have no hope for the series" already, but especially if they introduce a multiverse because there's no "multiverse in The Witcher, it's just other worlds." Others complained about the idea that every modern franchise needs a multiverse, like Le Brun de Dhuan, who said that "when the main plot of a show become[s] 'how we managed to replace the actor' that's when you know there is nothing interesting left in it.
