I cover all manner of console and PC games, but if it’s about looting or shooting, I’m definitely there. If I’m watching something, it’s usually science fiction, horror or superheroic.
We know little about The Witcher 4 at this point, the project that at least two-thirds of CDPR is working on at the moment in the wake of ceased development of Cyberpunk 2077, but thanks to Geralt’s famed voice actor, Doug Cockle, we know that Geralt will be in it.Previously, we heard that the series will move on from being Geralt’s story, focusing on a new Witcher school and new characters. Well, mostly new characters.
I uh, actually do not think we knew that? So Cockle may have made news here without meaning to. Cockle also says he has not seen a script for the game, but seemingly has gotten word that he will be needed in some capacity.This could be in a major supporting role as an NPC, or maybe you just come across him in passing and he gives you a side quest, who knows. I am not terribly surprised that a new Witcher game would have at least a cameo from him.
What I’m wondering is if CDPR may actually go down the Baldur’s Gate/Cyberpunk road of a player-created character. A make-your-own Witcher, choosing gender and looks and the story unfolding that way.
We’ll see if Cockle walks back what he said, but the cat is probably out of the bag now, and maybe CDPR will give us a bit more information officially as a result.Our community is about connecting people through open and thoughtful conversations.
