The White Lotus season 3 has transported viewers to Thailand , and while the new installment is off to a strong start, the only character to appear in all three seasons is a bit ridiculous. The White Lotus season 3 continues the tradition of following a new cast of characters to a new location. However, like season 2, it maintains connections to previous outings by featuring a few familiar faces in the cast.
Sadly, due to The White Lotus season 2's ending, Jennifer Coolidge's Tanya isn't among them. And her involvement in the latest outing would have been interesting considering Belinda's return to The White Lotus after a season away. But while Belinda won't be encountering Tanya at the titular resort, she might see another character from season 1. Greg Hunt is back in The White Lotus season 3, making him the recurring figure to appear most in the show – a strange realization given how unlikable he is. Greg is officially the only character to appear in all three outings of the HBO show. Jon Gries' Greg is introduced as a love interest for Tanya in season 1, and season 2 takes their relationship to disturbing and deadly places. Despite being the one to orchestrate Tanya's demise – a plot that receives far more attention than he'd hoped – Greg manages to show up in The White Lotus season 3's premiere. Greg appears at the White Lotus in Thailand with a woman named Chloe, who quickly becomes friends with Chelsea at the bar. The conversation between Chloe and Chelsea suggests that the former doesn't have a great relationship with Greg. And he doesn't seem to be enjoying himself as he sits in the background. However, Chloe indicates that she and Greg have been living together and dining at the White Lotus for about a year. It's wild that Greg hasn't been arrested in this timeframe, and it looks like we'll have to deal with his antics for another season.Greg's return in The White Lotus season 3 is disappointing because it means Tanya didn't receive justice. However, it's also ridiculous that he's in another season of the show because he's one of the series' worst characters. While very few of the characters in The White Lotus are admirable or decent people, plenty have redeeming qualities. And even those who don't are usually entertaining, like Jake Lacy's Shane or Theo James' Cameron. Greg is both a terrible person and pretty dull, making him a strange choice to keep around. At this point, the HBO series could probably do without Greg altogether. Judging by Chloe's description of Greg, he doesn't seem to be any more likable after The White Lotus season 2. And it's unlikely season 3 will try to sell viewers on him, as he seems to be taking on a background role once again. But since the show is committed to bringing him back, I'm hoping it will finally accomplish what season 2 didn't have time for. Greg's return only works if he finally gets his just deserts, so hopefully, The White Lotus season 3 can make that happen. The White Lotus Season 3 Has To Finally Kill Off Greg, Right? That Has To Be The HBO Show's Reason For Bringing Him BackIt's ridiculous that Greg is in every season of The White Lotus so far, but season 3 seems likely to kill him off – and it sort of needs to at this point. Although there's something to be said for wealthy, cruel men getting away with things as one of the show's messages, The White Lotus could have left Greg alone after season 2 if that's what it was going for. There's no reason to bring him back just to send this message; there needs to be a larger point. Giving Greg his comeuppance seems like the most obvious one. Greg's relationship with Chloe certainly seems odd, so it could be the catalyst for his death in The White Lotus season 3. Perhaps Chloe already knows who Greg is and has her own sinister intentions. But she doesn't make it seem like she views him as anything but one of the 'losers back home' in the premiere. Alternatively, Greg could endanger Chloe, just like he did to Tanya, prompting her or even Chelsea to go on the defense
