The Walking Dead: Dead City executive producer, Scott M. Gimple, teases new horrifying and disgusting walkers roaming the streets in New York City.

Producer and The Walking Dead's chief content officer, Scott M. Gimple, recently teased new disgusting Walkers set to appear in the highly-anticipated spinoff show, The Walking Dead: Dead City. Although the long-running zombie horror series concluded in November 2022 after 12 years and 11 seasons, The Walking Dead franchise will continue with various spinoffs and sequel shows, including Darryl Dixon and a Rick and Michonne limited series.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY While speaking with Collider, Gimple teased horrific and disgusting new walkers in The Walking Dead: Dead City spinoff show. Without detailing the appearance of the new undead, the producer discussed a never-before-seen walker that may induce nausea when the audience finally sees it and possibly another kind that Gimple calls "mind-bendingly horrific.

"There are some incredibly notable walkers this season. There’s one that I think will both invoke awe in people, but they also might throw up. It is one of the most awesome, disgusting, terrifying walkers that I’ve seen in the history of the show. There are a number of horrific walkers, but there is a mind-bendingly horrific walker coming up that I wasn’t on set for, and I’m glad I wasn’t. I got to experience the horrific magic at home, and it is magic.

Within The Walking Dead: Dead City's six episodes, Morgan previously teased that Negan will return to his over-the-top violent ways of the past. Although he has attempted to put that part of his life behind him, Negan also wishes to atone for his past transgressions, specifically the murder of Maggie's husband, Glenn . His actions deprived Hershel of his father, a title Negan will hold when the first episode airs.

Morgan recently stated that his upcoming sequel series feels very different than the original The Walking Dead show. Where that series sported a vast revolving ensemble cast, The Walking Dead: Dead City focuses primarily on the relationship between Maggie and Negan as they work together while venturing into new unknown territories. The Walking Dead: Dead City is slated to premiere in June 2023 on AMC.
