The voice of Mario from Nintendo's video games will soon change after the company announced the departure of voice actor Charles Martinet.
The release of"The Super Mario Bros. Movie" broke box office records for the year in early 2023, though"Barbie" later surpassed it in late July.
Voice actor Charles Martinet will remain at Nintendo as a"Mario ambassador," but he will no longer record voice lines for the character. The Super Mario video game series has sold more than 430 million copies worldwide, and it is estimated to have grossed more than $55 billion. Martinet voiced Mario in all of his appearances from the time he assumed the role, from Mario's classic platforming titles to games in which Mario was just one among a cast of characters, such as the Super Smash Bros. series.Nintendo has notAnders Hagstrom is a reporter with Fox News Digital covering national politics and major breaking news events.
