The US is averaging around 107,000 new infections every day, according to Johns Hopkins University -- down from more than 150,000 just last month. Rates of hospitalizations and deaths have also been on the decline.But Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told ABC's"This Week" that over nearly 20 months of the pandemic, Covid surges have subsided only to come back again.
