Rochester police showed never-before-seen surveillance footage that captured Julius Greer Jr. , 14, the night he was killed in a drive-by shooting Jan. 2, 2022, while he was walking into a store on North Street in Rochester . Rochester , N.Y. — Police gave us a look Friday at never-before-seen surveillance footage of a 14-year-old boy just moments before he was gunned down in Rochester more than two years ago. They're hoping that sharing this could help bring justice in this unsolved case.
“He looks like he is just heading right for the store, and then a vehicle pulls up behind him,” said Rochester Police Investigator Joel Wittman. “As he was walking to the store, he was approached and shot. He was able to run into the store, where he collapsed and died.”After more than two years, the case remains unsolved. However, police say a car shown in the surveillance footage may be the answer to important questions.
Julius' family wants answers, and any information may bring them closer to justice. Wittman says it may also prevent future tragedies.
