I cover all manner of console and PC games, but if it’s about looting or shooting, I’m definitely there. If I’m watching something, it’s usually science fiction, horror or superheroic.
The Umbrella Academy did not last long in the top slot of Netflix’s top 10 list, an abridged final season that did not impress critics and was positively, one of the most controversial comedians out there right now, though clearly a lot of people are interested in his performances., a huge drop from the 91% ratings from seasons 2 and 3. But the audience score? Ouch.
As for Matt Rife, yeesh. I’ve seen this guy spawn insane amounts of discourse online, and I’m sure this new special, Lucid, will be no exception. I haven’t watched but I expect Twitter and TikTok will fill up with clips soon, be they funny or offensive. He should not last long on top, however, given that one-off comedy specials never do due to watch time alone.At #3, the licensed, first season of Fire Country is performing well as a Netflix grab.
What’s going to be #1 next? That’s an easy call. It’s going to be the fourth season of Emily in Paris, which will be out tomorrow, August 15, and will no doubt take that spot from Matt Rife easily, and stay on top for maybe a week, if I had to guess. Longer than Umbrella Academy in any case. I’m not sure how long that show plans to run, but it’s mostly well-liked and a four season run on Netflix for any series is very impressive.
