Fernando Alonso has laid out where he thinks he could overcome Red Bull in the coming weeks. F1 Formula1
While Aston Martin are enjoying one of the biggest upturns in form in recent F1 memory, they are still some way off winning a race with Red Bull proving unstoppable so far.
Alonso is definitely the best of the rest having stood on the podium four times but he is still on a mission to secure his 33rd Formula 1 win, a decade after his last one in Barcelona. “I think at the beginning of the year a podium was amazing. Now after four podiums we want obviously more, and at least a second place,” Alonso said after the Miami Grand Prix.
While Alonso is hoping for another win to add to his collection, he later admitted in the same press conference that beating Ferrari and Mercedes to P2 in the Constructors’ Championship was a more realistic goal.“I think the year is going to be difficult. The gap is quite big even though I think today has been our best race pace yet in the season,” he said.
