The Brits doubled down on what they do best: create jaw-dropping show stoppers.
In times of crisis, sometimes looking back to leaders of the past helps us forge our way forward once again. So in the immortal words of Sir Winston Churchill, this season, British designers decided to “never let a good crisis go to waste.” London was chock-full of all the wonderfully creative and experimental designs we have come to expect from the land of Westwood, Galliano, and McQueen.
No stone was left unturned when seeking inspiration—be it Burberry’s underwater living, a walk in the forest with Erdem, or even club kids from outer space . London Fashion Week castings were more inclusive than ever before, thanks in part to newcomer Art School. And designers took this unique moment to swing for the fences with exciting color pairings and silhouettes. One thing is for sure, anarchy is still very much alive and well in the U.K.
