This article delves into the enduring fascination with the character of Tom Ripley, exploring the recent Netflix miniseries and the 25th anniversary of the acclaimed film adaptation starring Matt Damon. It examines how Anthony Minghella's version portrayed a more sympathetic Tom while highlighting the film's focus on Tom's vulnerability and the consequences of his empty desires.
