The Simpsons in live-action art brings together an interesting and entirely unexpected cast to play the roles of Homer, Marge, and many more.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The Simpsons in live-action art brings together an interesting cast to play iconic roles. Like the show, which is elastic and can bend to different genres and concepts, ideas about what the iconic animated family would look like in different forms are similarly varied.
With The Simpsons now in season 35, a new showcase posted by Lembergdk on the midjourney subreddit is perhaps unique for its casting choices, mashing up actors from different eras to portray the seminal television characters. In the art, Homer is played by Bruce Willis. Harry Potter's Helena Bonham Carter, meanwhile, plays Marge. Young Sheldon's Iain Armitage is Bart Simpson, while Stranger Things alum Millie Bobby Brown is Lisa. Other cast additions, detailed in the captions, include Jack Black as Comic Book Guy and Jim Carrey as Krusty the Klown.
Why A Live-Action Simpsons Is So Intriguing There is nothing currently in the works as far as The Simpsons going live-action, but the possibility was discussed at one point. It wouldn't have focused on any of the main or major supporting characters. Instead, in the 1990s, recurring guest Phil Hartman wanted to make a live-action film based on his Troy McClure character. This gained the support of several Simpsons staff members, who wanted to help bring the project to life.
There remains an immense interest in casting the project and perhaps, maybe even more than seeing the project, it's fun to imagine which actors would play such instantly familiar characters. There are also questions about the approach. If, for example, a live-action Simpsons horror movie happened, then there's the option of relying on horror movie and TV icons.
