The Prince of Wales turns 41 today!

rang its bells to celebrate Prince William's birthday. Before 2020, the Abbey bells rang for the birthdays of numerous royals: Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, their four children then-Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward, along with Prince William, Kate, and their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Beginning in 2022, Westminster Abbey announced the birthday bells will only ring for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles. "The Abbey bells can be heard ringing out before services and in celebration of church festivals. The bells have also traditionally been rung to mark the birthdays of senior members of the Royal Family," a spokesperson for Westminster Abbey.

Now, it seems like that applies to just King Charles and his heir, Prince William. "Wishing HRH The Prince of Wales a very happy birthday today!" the Abbey tweeted, with a video of the bells ringing.
