The first child of Meghan and Prince Harry was"delivered safely at 5:26 am" and"weighs 7lbs. 3oz," it said. The palace would not confirm where the baby was delivered but said Harry was by his wife's side. An emotional Prince Harry told reporters afterward that"mother and baby are doing incredibly well.
The couple, who also announced the birth of their son with a post on their official Instagram page, added a second post thanking the public for its "support and kindness."Among Monday's well-wishers were Prime Minister Theresa May, opposition Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn, Meghan's"Suits" co-stars, and Charles Spencer, who is the brother of Harry's mother, the late Princess Diana.
