After briefly caving to a right-wing pressure campaign, the Los Angeles Dodgers announced Monday that they would once again welcome a storied San Francisco drag group to their annual Pride Night event next month.

The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, an LGBTQ+ advocacy and charity group made up of queer and trans performers who dress as nuns, is now set to receive a Community Hero Award from the team during the Dodgers’ June 16 game against the San Francisco Giants. The group was founded in the 1970s to help those affected by the AIDS crisis.the Sisters from its Pride Night lineup due to “the strong feelings of people who have been offended” by the group.

“We are pleased to share that they have agreed to receive the gratitude of our collective communities for the lifesaving work that they have done tirelessly for decades,” the MLB team wrote in a statement apologizing to the group and explaining their decision to reinvite them. “We will continue working with our LGBTQ+ partners to better educate ourselves, find ways to strengthen the ties that bind and use our platform to support all of our fans who make up the diversity of the Dodgers family.
