This past week featured several notable individual and team performances across the Alaska sports landscape at the high school, collegiate and professional levels. The 2024 season for high school flag and tackle football saw some dominant performances and exciting finishes while several other fall sports continued to get underway. On the college scene, thecross country and volleyball teams opened the 2024 season.
Out on the trails, the annual ASD Class Races took place on the Delaney Park Strip this past Thursday in which distance runners competed against their peers in the same grade from across the CIC. Among the standouts waswho recorded the fastest time by any female in any grade with a time of 11:08.
