Reportedly, homes in Houston average about $403,490, a big discount compared to the homes that average around $870,000 in San Diego, according to Culture Map.

Also, rent prices are cheaper. Rent in areas like Los Angeles and San Diego can cost $2,600 monthly, whereas the median rent in Houston is half that, $1,336 monthly.The report also said 2021 was a peak period for move-ins of the last decade, showing an 80 percent increase compared to 2012.California residents have been moving to Houston for myriad personal and professional reasons.
