Pertinent details: a month ago, injuring his toe in the process. He hasn’t played since, and admitted yesterday he’s not close to 100 percent healthy. When he returns, he’ll play with a special insole in his cleat to keep the toe from flexing. Ouch. “We’re not doing that,” Judge said defiantly.
Judge added that he still could have offseason surgery, and he has played through injury before. Yankees fans better hope the rehab goes well. This season — and maybe a few beyond this — ride on it.
