Jeremy Hunt treated himself to three Accrington pork pies during Lancashire visit - so we tried one too
When visiting a town or city you've never been to before it can be tempting to try out some local delicacies.
After buying a packet of sweets from The Sweet Stall Mr Hunt spoke to Amanda Mills who has worked on Slacks Farm Deli for eight years. We headed to the stall after the Chancellor dashed off for his train to see what he picked. "He bought three pork pies," Amanda told LancsLive. "I put them in three separate bags and he said he was going to eat them on the train home."
Amanda welcomed the £20m investment into the market hall and said: "Anything for the town is good." And given that the regeneration will involve creating a food hall in the market Slacks will no doubt benefit from an influx of food-lovers.
