The Pitt Season 2, Episode 10 reveals Dr. Robby's sexist tendencies. The episode highlights his unequal treatment of female colleagues, particularly Dr. Mohan and Dr. Al-Hashimi, confirming a pattern of misogyny present since the show's beginning.

Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for The Pitt season 2, episode 10.This week's episode of The Pitt season 2 confirmed an unfortunate character trait about Dr. Robby that has been brewing since the start of the show.

Dr. Robby is one of the most beloved members of the cast of The Pitt. He's profoundly empathetic to his patients, fiercely protective of his doctors and medical students, and generally just a good and lovable guy. Robby isn't perfect, though, and The Pitt season 2, episode 10 proved that beyond a shadow of a doubt. This week's episode saw Robby fly off the handle at both Dr. Mohan and Dr. Al-Hashimi , and it exposed an ugly truth about his character: he's sexist. Robby doesn't treat his male and female colleagues equally, and it's a problem that has been baked into The Pitt from the start. Robby Is Kind Of Misogynistic Towards His Students The Pitt season 2, episode 10 put Dr. Robby at odds with both Dr. Mohan and Dr. Al-Hashimi, and it highlighted how misogynistic he can be. In the episode, Mohan suffers a panic attack after receiving numerous calls from her mother and worrying about the next year of her medical career. When Dr. Robby examined her, however, he berated her for having"mommy issues," not having her head in the game, and even told her to leave the hospital. Robby's erratic behavior only continued when Dr. Al-Hashimi called out his behavior towards Mohan later on in the episode. Al-Hashimi asked him to have some empathy for Mohan, and Robby replied by saying that he would have more if he thought he was leaving the emergency room in more capable hands. Clearly, Robby has a very low opinion of Al-Hashimi. That opinion isn't entirely unearned, but Al-Hashimi's gender is certainly a factor in it. Robby's misogyny isn't a new feature of The Pitt. There were multiple instances in season 1 of Dr. Robby showing favoritism to his male students and residents and borderline contempt for their female colleagues. His treatment of Dr. McKay and Mohan stand out as the most egregious offenses. Robby chose to protect David, a potential school shooter, over his potential female victims, and he was constantly telling Samira to speed up her treatment of patients. When it comes to male students and residents, however, Robby doesn't have the same high standards. Dr. Whitaker is Robby's golden boy in The Pitt season 2; not even Whitaker's relationship with Amy, a former patient, is enough to elicit so much as a raised voice from Robby. If Santos, for instance, had an inappropriate relationship with a patient, Robby wouldn't have reacted so casually. The only male doctor Robby ever lashes out at is Dr. Langdon, and that's only because Langdon has wronged Robby. Langdon broke Robby's trust, abused drugs, and committed a felony. Despite all that, he's back at PTMC just 10 months later, which Santos pointed out this week. If, say, McKay had been sneaking pills from patients under Robby's nose, she would be in prison, not getting the cold shoulder. Posts By Jennifer Chu It's also safe to assume that Robby wouldn't treat his male students or peers the way he did his female coworkers in The Pitt season 2, episode 10. Does anybody believe he would have berated Whitaker for having mommy issues if he was having a panic attack? Does anybody believe he would need as much proof of competency if Dr. Abbot or Dr. Shen were taking over the emergency room instead of Dr. Al-Hashimi? Robby's past instances of misogyny were mostly subtle, and they were relatively easy to overlook. Robby's misogyny in The Pitt season 2, episode 10, however, is very overt and right out in the open. Watching him go directly from berating Mohan to being buddy-buddy with Whitaker and Duke was a case of whiplash that made his sexism impossible to ignore. It's time for us to admit that Robby is a biased character. Robby's Sexism Is Getting Worse As His Mental Health Deteriorates Robby's sexism is getting worse and more overt in The Pitt season 2 than it was in season 1, and there might actually be a reason for it. The Pitt season 1 already established that when Robby is getting overwhelmed and stressed out, he starts to lash out at people. When the measles patient with the anti-vax mom came in, Robby flew off the handle and screamed at her. That episode was, notably, after the immense tragedy of the PittFest shooting. In The Pitt season 2, Robby is already 10 hours into a shift that has proven much worse than he could possibly have anticipated. PTMC is swamped with patients, the digital systems are down, and everything is a chaotic mess. Robby is getting overwhelmed, and he's once again taking his stress out on others. This time around, however, there isn't an anti-vaxxer around to take the brunt of Robby's anger, so he's putting it onto his female colleagues instead. Robby's stress level certainly isn't an excuse for the sexism he's displaying this season, but it is an explanation. It's also yet another very clear sign that Robby desperately needs psychiatric help. He's spiraling, very clearly thinking about either dying by suicide on his motorcycle trip or simply not coming back, and lashing out at his colleagues. Robby needs to fix his sexism, but he also needs therapeutic help before The Pitt season 2 is over. 294 9.5/10 8/10 The Pitt 10 stars 9 stars 8 stars 7 stars 6 stars 5 stars 4 stars 3 stars 2 stars 1 star Like Follow Followed TV-MA Drama Release Date January 9, 2025 Network Max Showrunner R.
