Lace up your walking boots and make the most of the gorgeous scenery this season
Going for a walk on a crisp autumn day is a must-do this season. Luckily for us in Greater Manchester, one of the best places in the UK for an autumn walk is only a stone’s throw away.
Researchers from Parkdean Resortshave found the most popular autumn walking locations according to TikTok. The Scottish Highlands came out on top, which is unsurprising given the thousands of square miles it covers.It was followed by Castle Combe in the Cotswolds, a picturesque village around 10 miles north of Bath. The village has fairytale-like cottages and gorgeous mediaeval architecture, making it an atmospheric place for an autumn walk.
Winnats Pass, the spectacular limestone gorge which leads into the village of Castleton, ranked in fifth place and nearby Mam Tor came in seventh place. The latter offers incredible views across Edale, Castleton and the Hope Valley. It’s also become a popular spot for watching sunrises.
