The Peach Truck returns to Northeast Ohio with ripe peaches.
is back and is making regular stops around Northeast Ohio. The delivery service started as a way to get southern peaches to northern customers at peak ripeness. Today even more peach lovers can find a pickup location near home.
The Peach Truck owners source peaches from growers throughout the South, promising competitive flavor and texture. Visits to Northeast Ohio started in late May and continue through September. The long season is made possible because the company works with farmers in various locations throughout peach country. As different peaches ripen – roughly 40 varieties throughout summer – they are harvested and shipped. Note, customers can’t choose varieties, but receive what’s ripe in that part of the season.for pickup at a nearby location. Or they can walk up to a truck to see extra peaches are available.
Peaches are sold in three-pound bags for $14 or 12-pound boxes for $45. For canners, the 12-pound box will fill about five, quart jars. Need ideas for all those peaches?
