CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns still have high hopes for receiver Elijah Moore this season, and it’s one of the areas targeted for major improvement after the bye.
Todd Monken created a blueprint to attack the Browns’ defense; here’s how they counter it : Film Review “We view as one of the better playmakers on the roster,” Browns GM Andrew Berry said. “I know that we’re excited to get him the ball in a variety of ways. I do think that there’s an element where, whenever you get a new skill player in a new offense, sometimes you don’t want to necessarily discourage some of the tinkering.
It’s been a worthwhile pursuit, but the Browns must re-evaluate whether it’s prudent to continue, or to let Moore focus on receiver and get his sea legs in this new offense. Moore has the speed to get behind a defender, but must prove to the Browns he can win some of the contested catches. Because of his size, teams will get physical with him and try to outmuscle with him. But he’s tough and has what it takes to win his share of battles. Once Moore gets rolling in the passing game — including some touchdowns — the Browns can spring him on teams as a runner out of the backfield. But he must first get his mojo down so he can fully utilize his speed and explosiveness.
