5 Sigourney Weaver Sigourney Weaver is the original mainstay of the Alien franchise, and her performance as Ellen Ripley not only earned her worldwide recognition as an actress but contributed to the franchise bringing her back for multiple movies. Weaver's Ripley was introduced in the original Alien as a warrant officer aboard the spaceship, Nostromo, before coming back as a heroine with a proven history of success against the titular monsters.
4 Lance Henriksen Because Ripley was the only survivor of the first Alien film, the direct sequel Aliens introduced a whole new cast of characters, including Lance Henriksen's Bishop. Audiences can recall that Bishop was an android much like the notorious sleeper agent Ash was in the first film - while Ash had little regard for human life, Bishop proved his loyalty to Ripley and humankind, and by the end of Aliens, he even became the reason for Ripley's survival.
