Karen Filippelli Almost Had Jim Halpert Get Over Pam When Jim Halpert moves to Stamford, CT to work in the Dunder Mifflin office there, he says it's because he was offered a promotion but he and the audience really know that it was to avoid being around Pam. Once in Stamford, Jim strikes up a friendship with Karen Filippelli , and over the course of season 2, they both grow feelings for each other, leading to the pair starting a relationship by the time they return to Scranton.
Though he always humors Michael’s ridiculous ideas, at least for their entertainment value, it isn’t until later seasons that Jim starts to respect Michael. He sees how difficult his boss has it, trying to keep an office of very different personalities engaged and happy. By the end of Michael’s time on the show, Jim happily tells him how much he’s meant to Jim over the course of his career, and how he’s the greatest boss he’s ever had.
