The New Look episode 8 introduced Carmel Snow.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Summary The New Look episode 8 continued Coco and Christian’s business storylines and introduced an important new character. One of the most notable supporting members of The New Look cast is the iconic Glenn Close, who made her first appearance as Carmel Snow in episode 8. After Coco visited Paris and Madame Zehnacker partnered with Christian in The New Look episode 7, episode 8 featured a bit of a time jump.

Carmel was a big fan of Chanel’s, and unlike many others in the fashion industry, wasn’t as aware of the rumors of Coco’s collaboration with the Nazis. She was determined to help restore Coco’s reputation and bring her back to France, not knowing just how hard a task that would be. Carmel confidently told Coco she would get Paris to take her back, but The New Look has proved that it’s much easier said than done.

7 Carmel Thought Fashion Needed A New Leader Carmel looked to the Parisian designers Close After her conversation with Coco, Carmel went to Paris to see what the current designers were doing. Her first stop was with Cristóbal Balenciaga, whom she heavily complimented. Carmel told him that Parisian couture could influence how thousands of ordinary women “dress and dream and live,” and that it didn’t just have to be for wealthy Parisians.

Coco was reluctant to help Spatz, but he said he had a contact who worked for Schellenberg and she could look into whether there was any evidence of Coco’s mission. The New Look episode 8 also reunited Spatz and Elsa, and Spatz warned Coco that Elsa was a liability, as she could reveal the truth about them at any moment. Coco told Spatz not to try and poison her against Elsa and to leave her alone, but he still planted some doubts in her head, framing her as a danger to them.

4 Madame Zehnacker Showed Carmel Christian’s Designs Carmel said she would return when it was complete While Christian was visiting his brother, Madame Zehnacker met with Carmel Snow and showed her Dior's designs. Carmel noted that Christian probably wouldn’t want her seeing them, especially because his collection was missing its definitive piece. Still, Carmel was interested in Christian’s work and said that she’d be in touch.

2 Carmel Told Coco She Couldn’t Write An Article On Her Carmel said she’d help Coco with her perfume Coco had been hoping that Carmel would write an article on her and her new perfume in Harper’s Bazaar to help rehabilitate her career and reputation as she continued her war with the Wertheimers. While Carmel was in Paris, she learned from Balenciaga that the allegations against Coco had more evidence behind them than her friend had let on.
