Cavite 7th district Rep. Ping Remulla posed on the rostrum after taking his oath. To his right is House Speaker Martin Romualdez Rep. Remulla took his oath of office in front of House Speaker Martin Romualdez during the plenary session Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 28. Rep. Remulla is the son of Department of Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remula, who is his direct predecessor in the district.
The elder Remulla won a fresh term as Cavite 7th district congressman during the May 2022 national elections. However, he was tapped as justice secretary by then-President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. just a few weeks later.Earlier, a special congressional election was held in Cavite’s 7th district to determine who will assume the vacated position. Ping , who ran under the National Unity Party , won.
