Others piled on including foosle, who tweeted "Okay it was cool for barbie and oppenheimer that was flirting, this s--t is just harassment" and Matthew Belloni, who said "SawPatrol let’s make it happ—ok no…" Saw Patrol Probably Won't Take Off Like Barbenheimer At first blush, Saw Patrol seems like a ready-made follow-up to Barbenheimer. The two movies certainly have very different tones. The upcoming release of Saw X promises to have the same gory and grim approach as the nine movies it is following, while PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie features beloved children's characters developing superpowers in a family-friendly mashup. There are several reasons why Saw Patrol likely won't take off in the same way as Barbenheimer. One of these is the fact that Barbenheimer was one of the first times since the COVID-19 theater shutdowns that two major tentpole blockbusters have opened on the same weekend. The novelty may have worn off by September, making audiences less interested in creating memes about the double feature. The main reason the Saw Patrol meme could stall out, though, is the fact that the movies don't fit together in the same way as Barbie and Oppenheimer. While both of those movies felt very different, they did appeal to a similar age demographic. Saw's adult horror audience and PAW Patrol's children's animation audience are so different that there isn't as much natural crossover, and some may find the idea of a beloved animated property being combined with grotesque horror too off-putting.
