The 2022 Ford Maverick is the little brother of the Ranger, F-150, and Super Duty pickup trucks. It is new for the 2022 model year and offers off-road prowess alongside fuel efficiency and flexible storage solutions.
The new Maverick carries over many of the design attributes that customers have come to expect from Ford trucks including a strong, muscular body style and a sense of traditional truck proportions. The truck's name is stamped into its tailgate, and it has standard LED headlamps, and what it calls a"Flexbed".
At 199.7 inches long and 68.7 inches tall, the 2022 Maverick is just 11 inches shorter at the nose than the Ford Ranger and three inches shorter. The F-150 bests the Maverick by a little under three feet in length and six inches in height. Output is good for both with the 2.5-liter getting 162 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque while the upgraded 2.0-liter achieves 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. The 2022 Ford Maverick XLT is the truck's mid-grade model.Ford Motor Company"Maverick" is stamped on the tailgate of the truck.Ford Motor CompanyThe muscular truck shape is instantly identifiable as a Ford.
Maximum payload with both engines is 1,500 pounds. Owners can tow 2,000 pounds with either engine. Adding the available towing package to the Maverick with the EcoBoost engine ups the towing capacity to 4,000 pounds. That's enough to satisfy the needs of a small camper, ATV, or watercraft.
