Creator Chip Zdarsky's Promise to Marvel & Muppet Fans (The Future Is Bright) Variant Covers by Humberto Ramos, Ron Lim, and Matteo Lolli for THE MUPPETS TAKE THE MARVEL UNIVERSE #1 (2026) It isn't just Muppet and Marvel fans who are excited for this epic crossover, as the creators themselves have also expressed enthusiasm about taking part in this unprecedented collaboration as The Muppets and Marvel heroes come together for the first time within the pages of comics. Marvel's press release included comments from writer Chip Zdarsky himself: With the great power of two iconic properties comes great responsibility.
I promise to not let down Kermit, Fozzie and Animal the way Spider-Man let down his Uncle Ben. It's impossible to overstate how excited I write for Miss Piggy, who I consider to be one of the greatest icons of the last hundred years, a character who speaks to every generation. I also got to write Deadpool. And Pete Woods is turning in the most stunning, detailed and joyous pages.
Seeing his take on these characters interacting is a real delight. While Marvel has only confirmed this one-shot special so far, the fact that Disney owns both The Muppets and Marvel IPs means this could very well be just the beginning of more epic crossovers between these two iconic franchises
