The free Sunny South Dallas Food Park event will feature a variety of Black-owned food vendors.
Carla McCannaIn partnership with Fair Park First, Dallas-based “place creation group” Do Right By the Streets is hosting The Sunny South Dallas Food Park, which is free and open to the public, on Nov. 13 from noon until 4 p.m. The event is set to include a variety of Black-owned food trucks that feature both vegan and non-vegan food and beverage options, as well as handmade merchandise.
In addition to food and shopping, entertainment options for visitors include kid-friendly live music and entertainment hosted by K104 FM radio personality Lil D, as well as book signings with local authors and the opportunity for patrons to support local community organizations.The food park at Fair Park will be up and running from noon until 4 p.m. on Sundays of every month through July 30, 2023, with listed dates including Dec. 11, March 26, April 16, May 21, June 18, and July 30.
Formerly known as the MLK Food Park, The Sunny South Dallas Food Park recently underwent a name change in hopes of better representing the South Dallas community it serves. The Real Estate Council, the Better Block Foundation and the Dallas Catalyst Project began the food park project in
